We were comfortable at the Rebetika Hotel in Selçuk, so we stayed another day and night. From Selçuk, it was an easy drive to three sites. It is off-season in Turkey, and there were very few people at any of these sites. We tried to find one other site, but got lost. So we got ourselves sorted out and returned to Selçuk. We ate another good dinner at the Amazon Cafe Bistro, and went to bed early. Next stop – Aphrodisias.
Priene
Priene was once on the coast of Turkey, but now it is several kilometers from the sea. It has a well-preserved small theater, and the remains of a temple to Athena. We passed one tour group coming down while we were going up to the site, and once up there, we had the place to ourselves.

Miletus
Miletus is another city that was once a sea port. The theater here was awesome. There are some other ruins at the site, but we spent almost all of our time in and around the theater. We bought lunch here – gözleme (kind of like a quesadilla), one with spinach and cheese and the other with potato and pepper – from a wonderful woman who made them on a little stove that looked like an upside down wok. We also bought some fresh juice, mixed pomegranate and orange, from another vender.
Didyma
Right in the middle of the small town is this Temple of Apollo. I think the pictures say it all.

The columns remind me of Karnak.
Medusa is having a bad day.
There are a few more photos from Didyma here.
