Today’s prompt from Read Write Poem is to consider paradise. My idea of paradise? Spending time with my husband.
Paradise
It was in Cairo,
where I took the last chair
in a crowded waiting room,
that a stranger offered
his seat to my husband.
Please, he said, sit
beside your paradise.

So simple and so powerful– Wow!
…only few know and experience paradise such as this… this stranger, his eyes must have seen what your husband knows…[i wonder does he know that he knows]…. beyond words that fit the feelin…
So simple, yet so profound and moving. “Sit beside your paradise”: that will stick with me.
This is wonderful. Seems like a language thing that makes a beautiful image for marriage. Wonderful poem.
This one took my breath away.
“…sit beside your paradise”
I love that part!
