Today’s prompt was to take the some words from the list of 50, consider what they mean to you, and write a poem. My family and friends contributed to the list and their sense of fun is obvious.
Opsimathy
Here is something
I have learned late in life:
my sesquipedalian
family and friends
are as generous
with their syllables
as they are with their words.
They love pumpernickel
as much as onomatopoeia,
and they would just as soon defenestrate
as throw themselves out a window.
How about
dis-
com-
comb-
combo-
bobulated?
Or
cReNeLLaTe?
And tintinnabulation
has quite a ring to it, doesn’t it?
Epiphany:
each word itself a poem.

I like the “epiphany” flash of light at the end linking the reader back to what was “learned” at the beginning.
I like it. Some words pique my interest sending me to the dictionary while other words make me reconsider their meaning in the sense suggested in the last two lines of the poem.
