Today’s Read Write Poem prompt was to write a how-to poem. I think the poems are disintegrating a bit in this final stretch.
How to Survive Cubicle Life
(adapted from Paper Folding Wallet Instructions with a nod to Leonard Cohen)
Fold inward
along line A and line B
so that your wayward edges
meet at line C.
Fold inward along line C.
Fold inward along line D.
Now unfold everything,
and cut along the dashed lines,
including the hole,
- that’s how the light gets in -
in the center.
Fold tabs 2, 4, 6, and 8 inward.
Fold inward
along line A and line B
so that your wayward edges
meet again at line C.
Fold inward along line C.
Fold inward along line D.
Fold and tuck.
Tuck and fold.
Hang curiosities,
tea and oranges,
from the tabs.
Repeat the process
on the other side.
Hallelujah!

nice one….especially that ending to Mr Cohen..whos we have just seen again….those folding wallets instructions not bad….guess they didnt come from IKEA
Cool, but how d’yer get the film out, (only joking)
The repetition of the directions really speak to the monotony of the cubicle life. I like how you buried all your originality time after time in the folding.
Folding Wallet – how perfect. The monotonous details of the instructions work beautifully, and I love the nod to Cohen at the end.
I love your take on the prompt. Very clever!
